5th-6th Grade : 12U Slow Pitch

MGSA's in house league for fifth and sixth graders is 12U Slow Pitch. The game is similar to slowpitch, but we have relaxed the rules on the pitching arc, so pitchers can use almost any motion to try to get the ball over the plate. The goal is to help pitchers throw strikes, and help hitters put the ball in play.

(Pitchers have no speed or arc restrictions, but may not use a windmill -- windup -- motion.)

In this league, there is more emphasis on advanced throwing, hitting and fielding skills, as well as learning appropriate reactions to various game situations.

The 12U Slow Pitch league plays games on Thursday nights and Saturday afternoons at Legacy Fields, at the Minnetonka High School.

We also organize a competitive season-end tournament.

Top players from each team will also have the opportunity to play in post season play at the USSSA State Tournament.
